Our full name is Healing Lotus: Sound Therapy and Skin Spa. You will not find sound therapy as a line on the menu, though, because it is not something you book separately. It comes with the treatment you do book.
What you hear
The sound accompanies the facial or body treatment from the first breath onward. Three things make it up:
- Low-frequency singing bowls, like the ones in the photograph above, which sit in the spa’s meditation room.
- Ambient tones.
- Rhythmic breathing guidance.
One guest described it on Google after a facial:
“Got a facial today and tbh it was really calming. They did a lot of massage on my shoulders and neck, not just face, which I liked. The sound therapy in the background, kind of soft waves and chimes, put me half to sleep. Skin felt fresh after, not sticky, just relaxed.”
What it is not
It is part of the atmosphere of a treatment designed for rest. It is not a medical treatment, and we do not offer it as a cure or a therapy for any condition.
If you want to read what research does and does not say about sound, stress and sleep, our guide 5 ways sound therapy reduces stress and improves sleep goes through the studies and their limits, including who should be cautious. If sustained tones are uncomfortable for you, tell your therapist when you arrive.
Sound-healing salons for members
Beyond the sound in every treatment, the Supreme membership includes free sound-healing salons, alongside holiday gifts and a La Mer Revitalizing Hydration Facial each month. The full list of benefits and the current terms are on the membership page.
How to have it
Choose any treatment. If you are not sure where to start, the guides to the HydraFacial and the head spa say what each involves and what it costs, and the full menu is on the services page. Whichever you book, the sound comes with it.
